Greetings, welcome to Wandering the Wonderland, where I share my experience of connecting with ones essential nature and mother Earth. I am an artist working in multi disciplinary realms. If you are intrigued and have an open heart, please consider subscribing.
I am currently back in the City of Angels (or is it Angles?), emptying my moms home which I realize is the family home, containing memories from many generations across continents.
Sensitives and those with their intuitive antennae intact have been sharing about deep shifts unfolding in humanity’s spiritual evolution. In this intense time of transition we are being challenged to navigate beyond the dual/duel, by remembering who we are and anchoring into our heart as the true mind.
Moving from LA to Santa Fe in 2017, and then my mom’s passing in June 2024, have been quite transformational, especially in releasing of the tangible, material realm and embracing flow. In that practice, I am able to sense deeper shifts within myself that I witness are also occurring in the world.
“That which is below is like that which is above, and that which is above is like that which is below, to perform the miracles of one only thing.”
― Hermes Trismegistus
Alchemy is often referred to as transformation which can be perceived as transition from one form to another, ideally moving upward and evolving. I’ve experienced this several times within my life cycle, these phases pull me forward, out of the comfort zone, as I liberate outdated layers.
Here at the family home, I have unearthed a tube of drawings from when I attended Otis Art Institute in the 80’s. I was reminded how my strength resided in “line” drawings, with teachers often pushing me to work with less defining form and no strong lines. A great symbol to remind me to embrace the unknown, and the constant cycle of shedding what no longer serves. This earthly realm demands we be receptive to the letting go of control, and remember that we are in the constant process of death & rebirth. The ego clings to form, where as the spiritual, divine field resides in the formless.
“Man is the most divine of all the beings, for amongst all living things, Atum associates with him only - speaking to him in dreams at night, foretelling the future for him in the flight of birds, the bowels of beasts, and the whispering oak.”
― Hermes Trismegistus, Corpus Hermeticum
This unbinding feels like another layer of that same onion from May 2017 it felt like my life fell apart and I began the task of emptying my sweet, mid century modern home in the Santa Monica Mountains. I was tested on so many levels, and here it is again! My physical body is sore, as if its going through a marathon, which is being mirror in the emotional and spiritual body.
Many of the plants I had at that home were moved to my mothers, since I didn’t have a new home in New Mexico. And now what? These aromatic friends, that provided so many of their little souls for perfume making, feel like very dear ones who I don’t want to say goodbye to. I’ve been calling in Mary Magdalene to help with staying heart centered, and noticing how a simple smile can be such a sweet, uplifting gesture, both given and received.
As we stand together on this evolutionary threshold, with the offer to amplify our creative power, what shall you release and call in? I humbly submit to unmooring and calling in my guides, including friends, to help in focusing on what truly matters, while cultivating connection to imagination, inspiration, and intuition.
A few days ago, a friend of my daughters from Highland Hall Waldorf School, was at the house picking up a plant. He made a statement that took my mind to Rudolf Steiner, who often spoke and wrote about the occult forces of materialism. Stiener shared how these forces can obstruct depth of thought and feeling, causing humans to be pushed out of their soul-full-ness and into programmable automatons, or even worse, occupied by [in Steiners words] “demonic forces”.
What lies ahead for us humans, heaven or hell, or something other than this dual/duel?
Greg and I have been working on selling furniture from the family home. We started with Facebook Marketplace, and expanded into other online venues. In the end FB Marketplace was the only one that got any traction, although humans are very flakey when it comes to showing up and following through.
Iron Wood Furniture
My mother obtained several beautiful pieces of iron wood furniture from her friend Alberto, who owned Argentina Polo & Leather. The common name for this wood is referred to as both Mesquite and Ironwood, the Latin name is likely Lignum vitae; Guaiacum officinale, Guaiacum sanctum. The pieces may have been manufactured in Alberto’s studio when he was located in Burbank, or may have been imported from Argentina. Ironwood is considered one of the hardest woods on the planet. The pieces are exquisitely designed and handcrafted using wood joints as fasteners.
Since these, and other antiques from Europe, were not selling we opted to place them with a consignment shop. Another layer of that onion peels off, shedding away what is no longer needed.
Beautiful and poignant reflections Roxanna.
